Just curious since this whole CW update and lvl 10 is OP do you guys think gamers overseas take advantage of this and rush their clan to lvl 10 to sell for real money? Requesting Troops
The biggest feature and most common use of the Clan Castle is to house donated troops.
All clan members can fill the Clan Castle with troops donated from the clanmates. This request shows up on the clan chat and must be completed by clanmates.
These troops can be used on attacks or to defend your village.
Players receive experience points for donations on requested on the clan chat. You get 1 point to each housing space donated. For example, a Golem will reward you with 30 experience points. Spells will give you 5 experience points and Siege Machines 30. You don't get experience by donating on Clan War and Clan War League maps.
The donation limit is based on the level of your Clan Perks. Once you reach clan level 8 you can donate up to 8 troops. Once you reach Clan level 3 you will also get a partial refund of the resources spend training the donations.
Upgrading Your Clan Castle
Upgrading the Clan Castle increases its housing spaces, adding 5 units on each new level. Starting on level 4 you can request spells on level 6 you can request Siege Machines.
During the upgrade you can use the Clan Castle without any issues. You can request troops, use on attack and defenses and collect resources from the Treasury.
Clan Castle on Defense
Clan Castle is a very important building to defend your village. Housing up to 45 housing space units, they will leave the Clan Castle to defend your village upon attack.
The Clan Castle has a range 12 tiles. Once an enemy troop gets inside this radius the donated troops will leave the Clan Castle and fight them, just as your Heroes.
For this reason it is very important to place your Clan Castle near the center of your village. If you place on the corners the enemy can easily remove the troops from the castle with a bait troop, take them to the corner and kill before the actual attack.
Clan Castle troops killed defending your village are wasted, so after every defense on multiplayer you must request new troops.
However, on Legend League, Clan Wars and Clan War Leagues the troops will be automatically restored after being wasted on defense, so there is no need to request again.
Spells and Siege Machines stored on the Clan Castle are not used on defense.
It is possible to disable the use of Clan Castle on defense by putting the castle on 'Guard'. This is done so you don't lose your Clan Castle troops on defenses.
Clan Castle on Offense
The Clan Castle is also a very important building on offense. Housing up to 45 housing units, 2 spells and 1 Siege Machine that can be used on attacks, it is a critical feature on attacks.
All troops, spells and Siege Machines contained on the Clan Castle must be donated by clanmates. However, during battles you can choose if you want to use the Siege Machine from the Clan Castle or one from the army you've trained.
Treasury
The Clan Castle building also houses the Treasury, therefore is considered a resource building and will be attacked by Goblins.
Treasury is a special storage that holds resources provided by Clan Wars, Clan Games and Star Bonuses.
Attackers can steal only 3% of the resources stored here, so it is considered a safe place to keep. The loot is provided only when the building is completely destroyed.

You need the clan castle to join a clan. It can house troops that you can use in an atack or you can use the troops as defense. Once you start the game, the clan castle is a ruin and you can not use it. You must rebuild it first and then you can join a clan. You can move the clan castle once it is build. Not as ruin.
If you are in a clan you can request troops, you can do this every 20 minutes (or faster if you use gems), you can use your own message for the request. Other players will see this request in their chat window and can donate troops to your clan castle. They can donate a max of 5 troops to the clan castle. You can use these troops in a attack or leave them in your clan castle to help them defend your base.
For each troop you donate you receive experience points, you get 1 point for each housing space. A barbarian will give you 1 point and a giant will give you 5 points.
The loot you win in clan wars is awarded in your clan castle. You will need to tap on it and press collect, otherwise you don't receive the loot.

Defensive Strategy with the clan castle
- It is wise to place the clan castle near the center of your village. That way your troops come out when they attack from an random direction.
- Your troops come out if they detect an enemy in a 12 tile radius.
- Clan castle troops jump over walls when defending.
- Defensive units that survive will go back to the clan castle with full health. Ready for another defense.
- It has a lot of hit points (2nd from town hall).
- Troops that target defenses like the Giant will not attack the clan castle.
- Troops that have no favorite target will go after the clan castle troops once they notice them. If your clan castle troops are inside a wall the troops will attack that wall first. Which gives you an advantage if you use archers or wizards because they attack over walls.
- If your are attacked by air units, only archers, wizards, dragons or minions will come out to defend it. Any other troop will come out once a ground unit is used by the attacker.
- If the clan castle is destroyed, all troops inside are trapped until you fix it.
Offensive Strategy with the clan castle
- It is recommended to lure out the defending troops in the clan castle. You can do this by placing a unit in reach of the clan castle. Then you can attack the clan castle troops outside of the village. Otherwise your troops attack them while under enemy defense.
- If you lure the troops out you can either surrender (If the troops are to heavy like dragons). Or attack them with your troops, when the troops are outside the castle they will go after your troops wherever you place them. So you can lure them to the corner of the field and attack them there. You can also use the lightning spell to take them out. That is very effective with low health troops like barbarians or archers.
- If you use a lighting spell, it will only effect the defending troops. Not your troops.
- A wizard can take out large groups of low level defenders due to their high splash damage.
- If a clan castle has no clan shield it still can house troops. Don't get fooled by that!
- Your troops leave in the following order: Barbarians, Archers, Goblins, Giants, Wall Breakers, Balloons, Wizards, Healers, Dragons, P.E.K.K.A.s, Minions, Hog Riders, ValkyriesGolems, Witches. You can use this in your advantage, if you want to get rid of low health troops you can deploy the clan castle troops and then quickly surrender. The other troops remain in your clan castle because they didn't have time to come out.
Fun facts about the clan castle
- A donated healer will heal damaged buildings.
- Donated troops walk through wall instead of jumping over them.
- When you receive troops they march in from the top left corner. If you donate them they walk to the bottom right.
